Rosharon, Texas (May 22)—Skydive Spaceland has joined the large ranks of individuals and businesses stepping up to help victims of the enormous tornado that swept Oklahoma City Monday. This weekend (Saturday through Memorial Day Monday), Skydive Spaceland will donate $10 to the American Red Cross for every person who makes their first tandem skydive at Spaceland.
“Our thoughts are with everyone who has suffered through this disaster, and we want to do what we can to help,” said owner Steve Boyd. “In coastal Texas, we know what it’s like to rebuild after natural disasters and every bit of help is so important.”
Skydive Spaceland is capable of hosting a few hundred first-time skydivers per day, so Boyd hopes to raise several thousand dollars for the Red Cross this weekend. People can book their skydives for this weekend online at www.SkydiveSpaceland.com or by calling Skydive Spaceland at 281-369-3337. No special action is required to book a tandem skydive for the Red Cross donation, and skydives already purchased for the weekend will also add to Spaceland’s contribution.
Skydive Spaceland also encourages everyone to help the Red Cross help the tornado survivors by visiting redcross.org, dialing 1-800-REDCROSS or texting REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
“Come on out here and do something good for people while you’re having the time of your life!” urges Boyd.
